My Favorite Ski Resorts in Beijing (with Pricing & How to Get There)

Beijing might be known for its rich history, bustling hutongs, and mouthwatering food, but come winter, this city also transforms into a snowy playground. With the 2022 Winter Olympics putting Beijing’s slopes on the global map, skiing has never been more exciting or accessible here. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned skier, these ski resorts offer incredible snow, beautiful views, and surprisingly easy access from the city.

🎿 1. Nanshan Ski Resort

Located in Miyun District, Nanshan is one of the most popular ski resorts for many Beijingers. As one of the top ski resorts in the area, it’s well-developed, offering over 25 trails, a snow park, and excellent rental services. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier, Nanshan provides both ski and snowboard options, making it an ideal spot for all skill levels. The resort has a welcoming vibe for learners, and it’s a great place to enjoy the winter season while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Whether you’re here for a weekend adventure or a quick getaway, Nanshan Ski Resort offers an unforgettable skiing experience just a short drive from Beijing.

⛷ 2. Huaibei Ski Resort (怀北国际滑雪场)

Nestled at the foot of the Great Wall, this is hands-down the most picturesque ski resort on this list. The view of snow-covered battlements while skiing is something you won’t forget.

❄️3. Thaiwoo Ski Resort (太舞滑雪小镇)

Located in Chongli, this is where the pros train. Thaiwoo is not technically in Beijing (it’s in Hebei Province), but the high-speed train from the city center gets you there in under 2 hours.

  • Weekend day pass: ¥450
  • Rentals: ¥200–¥300
