Vegan Dining in Beijing 🌱

Beijing’s vegan scene isn’t huge, but it’s quietly solid. You get a strange but satisfying mix of ancient Buddhist traditions and modern, globally-influenced creativity.

Here are three vegan restaurants we like 😉

1. Vege Tiger (素虎): The Crowd-Pleasing Powerhouse

Click here to see its location on Apple map, or just simply copy the Chinese name and search on your map 🙂

Best for: Families, hearty appetites, and trying “fake meat” for the first time.

If you miss the variety of a buffet, head to Vege Tiger. Located near Qianmen (with several other branches across the city), this place is famous for its massive selection and fun vibe.

What to try:

  • Cumin Mushroom 孜然猴菇串
  • Blueberry Yam 蓝莓山药
  • Sweet and Sour Pork 糖醋里脊

2. Woye Oii Canteen (沃野Oii小食堂): The Hidden Fairy Tale

Click here to see its location on Apple map, or just simply copy the Chinese name and search on your map 🙂

Best for: A quiet date, solo dining, or Instagram-worthy aesthetics.

Tucked deep inside a hutong near Lama Temple, finding Woye Oii is an adventure. Once inside, it is tiny, warm, and lit with soft yellow lights.

What to order:

  • Miso Soy Milk Udon Hot Pot 味噌豆乳乌冬面暖锅
  • French White Sauce Mushroom Rice 法式白酱野菇饭
  • Seasonal Vegetable Rice 时蔬散饭

3. Chaochao. vegan food: The Trendy Night Out

Click here to see its location on Apple map, or just simply copy the name and search on your map 🙂

Best for: Naturalwine lovers, art enthusiasts, and a dinner party atmosphere.

Chaochao is a modern vegan space that doubles as an art gallery and a natural wine bar.

What to order:

  • Chili Oil Dumplings 钟水饺
  • Eggplant Nut Rolls 茄子坚果芝士卷
  • Vegan Meatballs 素丸子
