Our Hidden Wild Great Wall hike at Longquan takes you to an unrestored stretch of the Wall near a quiet rural village. The approach follows a river, crosses the water several times and climbs through mountain terrain to steep, atmospheric sections of ancient Wall.

This is the hike for guests who want the journey to feel as adventurous as the destination. Come ready for uneven ground, possible wet feet and the chance to finish with sunset over the ridgeline.

Is the Hidden Wild Wall hike suitable for beginners?

You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but you should have reasonable fitness and be comfortable with uphill walking, uneven ground and steeper sections. The difficulty is 3 out of 5.

Will my feet get wet during the river crossings?

Possibly. Careful footing may keep you dry when water levels are low, but guests should come prepared for splashes or wet feet. The exact crossings depend on recent weather and river conditions.

How long does the experience take?

The complete private outing takes approximately 6–8 hours, including transport and hiking. Traffic, group pace, weather and sunset timing can affect the exact return time.

Can my dog join?

Yes, this is one of our dog-friendly hikes. Dogs join free of charge; tell us in advance so we can confirm the route and vehicle arrangements.

Is sunset guaranteed?

We can plan the hike to finish near sunset, but clear views and colour cannot be guaranteed. Season, traffic, pace, cloud and trail conditions all affect timing.

What happens in bad weather?

We may adjust the river crossings, route or timing for rain, snow, wind or unsafe trail conditions. If the hike cannot run safely, we will discuss an alternative date or refund.
