Our Hutong Adventure Day gives you time to settle into old Beijing. Start with a coffee, explore the backstreets by bike and make lunch part of the discovery. Then see the city from above, wander further into its neighbourhoods and round off the day with a relaxed drink.

The hutongs are places to linger. Leave room for a good story, a favourite local dish and a corner you might otherwise pass by. This day connects the small discoveries with a wider view of Beijing, so you can enjoy both its history and its daily rhythm.

Morning coffee. Ease into the adventure at a tucked-away hutong café and get to know your host.

Ride into local life. Explore hutong lanes and neighbourhood spots by bike, with stories and food discoveries along the way.

Lunch your way. Discuss what you would love to eat, from Beijing noodles to a longer shared meal, and build lunch into the plan.

A new perspective on old Beijing

After lunch, consider the view from Jingshan Park and the neighbourhoods around Qianmen. These stops give the day a different perspective, from the city skyline to smaller streets. Your host will confirm the order and route around opening times, access and the pace of your group.

Finish with a well-earned pause.

Round off your Hutong Adventure Day with a craft beer or cocktail in a relaxed neighbourhood setting. Take time to share the day’s discoveries, then decide whether to stay longer. Coffee, meals, drinks and any entry fees will be clearly set out in your quote.

The outline allows around 6–8 hours. Private vehicle transfers can be discussed for the parts of the day that need them. Tell us about children, dietary needs and cycling confidence so we can shape a realistic plan. Wear comfortable shoes and leave a little flexibility in your evening.

Share your interests before booking and we will discuss what fits. A longer lunch, a particular neighbourhood or more time walking may change the route and quote. The aim is an enjoyable day with room to explore, rather than a rush between stops.
