What is Imperial Beijing by bike?

Imperial Beijing by bike is a 25 km, three-hour ride for people who want to cover more ground and see the grander sights of ancient Beijing. We connect imperial landmarks and local neighbourhoods, learning about history, culture and everyday life while supporting local businesses along the way. This is a bicycle-only experience. Is this a good way to see Beijing’s bigger sights?

Yes. This experience is made for people who want to ride further and see more of ancient Beijing’s grand sites in one adventure. We combine the bigger sights with local streets, independent businesses and stories about history, culture and life. It’s sightseeing with the curiosity and local connections we love.

Where does the experience start? We meet in Beixinqiao. Ask us for the exact meeting details when arranging your booking. From there, we explore the imperial city and its surrounding neighbourhoods.

Which places will we visit?

Our 25 km route connects grand imperial landmarks, the central axis, temple streets and the local neighbourhoods between them. It’s a chance to see plenty of Beijing in one ride. Exact stops can change with the day, season and group; tell us if a particular site matters to you when booking. Does this include entry to the Forbidden City or other attractions?

How far do we ride, and how long does it take? The ride covers 25 km and takes around three hours, including pauses for stories, street food and the sights along the way. The standard price is 500 CNY per person by bicycle. Use “Check partner pricing” above to ask whether your company qualifies for preferred rates. Bringing a group? Ask us about group rates when booking and paying together.

What’s included, and what costs extra? Your bicycle and soft drinks are included, with street-food stops and stories along the ride. Coffee, craft beer and other alcoholic drinks are pay as you go. Tell us about dietary needs or allergies before booking so we can discuss suitable food options.

Can we book a private experience?

Yes. To guarantee a private experience, cover a minimum of five people. Bookings for fewer than five may be opened for other adventurers to join. We accommodate up to 15 bicycle riders. Can you tailor a private group adventure?
