Our Terms & Conditions and Activity Risk Acknowledgement, written for people who like to know where they stand before they set off.
A note before we begin
The day can flow.
The important things stay clear.
This draft brings booking details, safety expectations and guest responsibilities together in one place. It is here for your review while we build the new site.
It must be completed and legally reviewed before it is used for live bookings. The final experience confirmation will provide the specific route, price, inclusions and cancellation terms.
Draft for review · 19 October 2026
We make space for the unexpected moments that make a day memorable. The important details should still be clear before we set off. Please read this page alongside your experience description and the written booking details we send you.
1. From enquiry to booking
Sending us a message is an enquiry, not a confirmed booking. We will confirm availability, your chosen experience, date, meeting place, group size, price, inclusions and any special arrangements in writing. A booking is confirmed only when we tell you it is confirmed and any agreed payment has been made.
Before publication: insert the correct legal name and contact address of the business supplying the experience, and confirm when a booking becomes binding.
2. A thoughtful route, with room to flow
Every experience has a planned route or core pathway. The exact order, stops, food, route and timing may change because of weather, access, safety, local conditions or what suits the group. We will explain any material change and discuss suitable alternatives with you. If an experience cannot safely go ahead, we may postpone, change or cancel it; the agreed cancellation and refund policy will apply.
3. Activity risks and your acknowledgement
Our adventures can involve ordinary risks as well as conditions that change during the day. Please consider the activity description and ask us about anything you are unsure of before booking.
- Rides: bicycles and electric scooters share space with pedestrians, vehicles and other riders. Surfaces, traffic and visibility can change.
- Walks and hikes: paths, steps, rocks, riversides and unrestored Great Wall sections can be steep, uneven, exposed or slippery. Weather, temperature and physical effort matter.
- Food and workshops: ingredients, allergens, hot surfaces, tools and food preparation may need particular care.
By joining an activity, you acknowledge that these risks exist and agree to follow the guide’s safety instructions and any equipment guidance. This acknowledgement does not remove our duty to take reasonable care, or any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We will explain activity-specific risks before the experience; a separate participant acknowledgement may be requested where appropriate.
4. Your part in a good day
Please give us accurate booking information, tell us privately about relevant mobility, health, accessibility, dietary or allergy needs that could affect the experience, and ask questions if you are unsure whether an activity suits you. Wear suitable clothing and footwear, use provided safety equipment correctly, follow local rules and the guide’s instructions, and do not take part while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Tell the guide promptly if you need to pause or stop. We will use information you share to discuss reasonable adjustments and safer options with you.
5. Groups and younger guests
The person making a group enquiry should pass the final experience details and risk information to everyone in the group. Each participant should have the opportunity to ask questions and acknowledge the terms that apply to them. A parent or legal guardian must review the activity for a minor and give any required consent; the applicable age and supervision rules must be stated in the booking confirmation.
6. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Your written booking confirmation should state the payment schedule, how to request a change or cancellation, any notice period, refund rules, treatment of late arrivals or no-shows, and what happens if weather or safety conditions affect the experience. We will not rely on an undisclosed cancellation charge.
Before publication: add the actual policy, including any different rules for private groups, third-party bookings and experiences with prepaid costs. Do not ask guests to accept this draft as a final cancellation policy.
7. Care, responsibility and insurance
We will plan and lead experiences with appropriate care and respond to safety concerns as they arise. Guests remain responsible for following instructions and making choices within their own abilities. Nothing on this page excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for personal injury caused by fault or for intentional or grossly negligent loss. We recommend checking whether your travel or medical insurance covers the activities you choose.
Before publication: confirm the operator’s insurance position and have the final wording checked for the places where bookings are sold and experiences take place.
8. Your details, photos and stories
We use the details you provide to respond to your enquiry, arrange the experience and help address relevant safety or dietary needs. We will ask separately before using an identifiable photo or story for marketing. A full privacy notice should explain who controls your data, any service providers involved, where it is stored, how long it is kept and how you can contact us about it.
9. Questions or concerns?
Please email hello@our-beijing.com before booking if a route, activity or term needs explaining. On the day, speak with your guide as soon as a concern arises. We would rather adjust a plan than leave you wondering.
Still wondering?
Let’s talk it through.
